Delhi metro stations to be closed for G20 summit India 2023
Delhi metro has released a list of metro stations to be closed for G20 summit India 2023 which is hosted in Delhi on 9th and 10th September and the participation from more than 30 heads of state and top officials from European Union and invited guest countries, along with 14 leaders of international organizations is expected.
Delhi getting ready to host G20 summit India
It’s worth mentioning that preparations are in full swing for the G20 Summit scheduled for September 9-10 in the national capital, Delhi. This G20 summit of world leaders will be held at the newly constructed International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Metro station gates to be closed for security reasons
During the G20 summit Delhi, the Delhi Police has advised the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to keep several entry and exit gates of different metro station closed for security reasons. For this purpose, a letter has also been written to DMRC by the Delhi Police.
The Delhi Police has written a letter to the Delhi Metro requesting the closure of gates at stations that open towards VVIP routes which are fixed for the movement. In addition to this, the police has instructed the closure of the gates of metro stations that lead to the places where VVIP guests are staying and the summit venue for these reasons Delhi metro stations to remain partially closed.

For this purpose, the arrival of foreign guests in Delhi will commence from September 7. Concerning the security of foreign guests, the Delhi Police is on full alert mode and taking all necessary steps in this direction. But from September 8th onward metro station gates will be closed according to the arrangement made by Delhi police and Ministry of Home affairs.
